Basically, I think New Leaf is to me what City Folk is to you. After all, it’s been so long since I’ve even had to pay a mortgage payment. I can’t wait to start fresh though, and enjoy the beginning of Animal Crossing again. I can’t explain the excitement I had when I chose the map of my village and I’ve now been so happy in my little town of Mayberry for, what, over five years now? And I still play every day!Īs excited as I am for Animal Crossing for the Switch (and yes, I am sooooooo excited), it’ll be bittersweet sweet to move on from my old town into a new one. I waited until midnight on June 9th, and downloaded the game from the eShop (it took FOREVER to download, by the way). Let me just say, that was perhaps the longest month of my life waiting for New Leaf to launch. When I watched the videos I positively fell in LOVE with the game. I discovered it a couple of months before it launched when I noticed all these people on YouTube playing the Japanese version. I just don't have real people to talk about this. But I will always cherish all my memories with my first AC (CF), New Leaf, and my future experiences of this lovely game. But, ten years after I first played AC, it won't be able to be part of my childhood. But anyways, here's wonderwall I'm still looking forward to the new Switch game, and I will be as hyped as I could be.
So New Leaf made me return to the game, and hooked me for hundreds of hours more, but it could never recreate the new sensation City Folk gave to me, in all senses. When New Leaf was announced, I got so hyped, but my love for the now franchise had not only grown, but matured. It was so much different to any other game I ever known. I remember also reading lots of official guides and magazines about the game with tips and such. I still don't complete lots of things from the game, like I've never seen Frillard, I've never built the Lighthouse nor the windmill buildings, I've never had to have a perfect town, nor have golden roses, and such. City Folk has caught my love like no other game has. Oh I even built up a script that would not just play perfect loops from all the original games' music (ripped from the game files themselves) and at every hour accordingly, but broadcasts them through a radio station I built with my Raspberry Pi (which I had to turn off when I entered a psych clinic). Well, I've been collecting things like the best quality versions of the movie, all official images of the movie, like posters, images of discs, et cetera, and the best quality versions of all the OST from all the games and the music (I've posted about this more than a year ago!). Not physical because I live so far away from places where they sell them, like the USA or Japan. I got so obsessed that since years I've been collecting digital things about Animal Crossing. It almost cry when I think of this game, and also the movie. It definitely became my favorite game of all times. I was so happy when I found it, despite the high price my dad had to pay for it. I searched through many parts of my city looking not only for the game, but the bundle that came with Wii Speak. I got hooked so hard I got obsessed with the game. I remember being like 8 (I'm 18 now) and having known about the game through a gaming magazine called "Club Nintendo" in Latin America. Absolutely in love with the music, while I've read from people who disliked it for being the accordion (or harmonica?) overused in it. Hoot hoot!
